Even though I really like my job, I find myself sometimes sitting back and thinking, “What will I cook for dinner tonight?”
This cooking thing is getting quite addicting. It isn’t so much the eating (though that plays a part), but it’s the process of creating it that I find strangely alluring. After hearing my friends’ compliments about my Adobong Manok Sa Gata (Chicken Adobo with Coconut Milk), something within me must have clicked. I wanted to learn some more.
Since then, I’ve looking up recipes and been testing them out.
Tuesday was the basic Adobong Manok (Chicken Adobo).
Wednesday was Adobong Manok with Sprite.
Yes, Sprite.
And today was Sinigang na Manok (Chicken with Sour Broth).
So much chicken I’ve cooked! I didn’t take any pictures of the food this week, but even now, I’m wondering how the Kare-kare I plan to make next week will turn out. Of course, I won’t find any oxtail here, nor puso ng saging (banana heart), but still…
Another thing that has been on my mind is the storm that is currently ravaging the Philippines. I’ve been hearing that phone signals and electricity has been knocked out, and I worry for the people back home.
The weather all over the world has been quite crazy lately. Just today, my officemate Lenka sent me a link to a photo of a tornado that hit the German coast. An actual tornado. A storm is also scheduled to arrive in Brno today, though I have yet to see any rain that even resembles typhoon weather in the Philippines.
Keep safe everyone.
i enjoy cooking too… that is, when im not too lazy to actually START. haha. miss you! cook for me when you get home!
